My brother just bought the all electric Mustang GT a whopping price tag of $88,000 I think he has lost his mind he can write it off because of his job BUT GEEZE I can’t imagine EVER paying that much for a car!!
I thought he was out of his mind when he told me how much he paid for them, but his rationale was actually very interesting. He said the IRS allows the full deduction for business mileage -- about $0.58 per mile at the time -- even though the energy cost is almost inconsequential. He figured it was costing him about $0.30 per mile to own the cars for his business, and the IRS was allowing him to deduct almost twice that amount.
