Spain 1936 vs US 2021: An Observation by an Australian

It’s exceptionally sad to make this comparison, but some of the similarities are striking. Consider these elements of Spain’s situation in 1936 in the light of recent American history.

1) After exceptional violence from the left in the leadup to the general elections, big questions were raised after an exceptionally close result. Antony Beevor in his classic book, The Battle for Spain: The Spanish Civil War 1936-1939,  said that Spain’s election was decided by 150,000 votes out of 10 million voters. While Biden’s popular vote margin was larger, his margin of victory in several swing states was very small, and audits and disputes underway potentially could erase his electoral vote margin.

Nobody questions the violence and intimidation in Spain, while leftist Historians all refuse to ask whether the result was rigged…as has recently been suggested by 2 eminent researchers. A proper investigation was never done.

2) The incoming Socialist Government immediately started a radical social reform program. Economic reform, police reform, a purge of the military, nd legal reform, all with great benefits to “their side” and nothing but pain for the rest.

3) The potential for legal recourse was short-circuited

4) The influence of foreign states in the leadup to the Election. Nobody would argue Stalin’s USSR wasn’t massively funding the Socialist left and the Anarchists in 1936.  Where did Stalin’s quote about “who counts the Votes” come from?

5) The influence of massive propaganda campaigns. CNN, Facebook, or Google anybody?

6) The election occurred during a period of massive social change. The Great Depression for Spain and a Pandemic in the US.

7) a rejection of Religion. Anti-Catholic sentiment was at fever pitch.

8) Both sides truly hated each other.

There are at least 70 million American “citizens” living in the USA who were not born here. That is nearly 23% of the entire citizen population. I am not even including the 40-50 million illegals living here (many of them who vote).

This is the ONLY reason the Rats get a higher percent of the vote for national elections.

We are being replaced by foreigners who hate the USA. That is a fact.

It is all going to implode. Death, pain, suffering is in our near future. Be prepared for what is coming because it most certainly is coming our way.

Both sides truly hated each other. 9. An acceptance and normalization of violence and repression as a political weapon. 10. Lots of guns. And people who knew how to use them. I certainly hope a fratricidal civil war really is not just a spark away in America. I genuinely like Americans. And like the rest of the free world, I sleep under the blanket of U.S. freedoms.

The military is being aggressively purged to a much greater extent than other Democrats have done. China is financing the left to some extent through proxies.

The Left learned a lesson in Spain in the 1930s and Chile in the 1970s: failing to purge the armed forces of patriots may lead to military countermeasures. Keep in mind that the top echelons of the U.S. military have always been political, and many of them were members of Establishment clubs like the Council on Foreign Relations. As that Establishment has moved steadily leftward, the generals and admirals have followed suit. I doubt someone like Norman Schwarzkopf, much less Curtis LeMay, would rise above lieutenant colonel at best.

RE: There are at least 70 million American “citizens” living in the USA who were not born here.

That is not necessarily a bad thing. Elon Musk was not born here. Neither was former Intel CEO, Andy Grove, neither was Trump’s adviser and now talk show host of the radio program, AMERICA FIRST, Sebastian Gorka.... and many others.

The key question is - How many of these 70 million came here legally and are LOYAL to the United States?

Thanks for reminding of this:

One good thing to come out of the Spanish Civil War was George Orwell. He went in to fight for the Communists and experienced their lies first hand. That was enough for him to write about tyranny in his novels.

Democrat administrations have regularly purged the officer corps since at least Truman. The difference this time with Obama II is that the purge is extending down to the privates. We have come to the point that the military is an arm of the Leftists in the government, not the military strength of the Nation.

The communists would dig up and desecrate the corpses of priests and nuns, quasi-national heroes to traditional Spain. Nathan Bedford Forrest’s body is likewise being exhumed and relocated.
