A revolution won without firing a shot (except at the firing range).
Don Surber posted an amazing pair of maps yesterday, showing the way that federalism is working to enable citizens to defend themselves with firearms. While the federal Constitution guarantees the right to bear arms, states regulate firearms licensing, and in the past 35 years, a landslide of states have recognized the right to carry a firearm. Check out the night and day contrast between 1986 and 2021:

This is correct. The “no issue” red states have gone from predominant to zero. The “may issue” states, where the right to carry (i.e., bear) arms can be infringed, are now confined to the coastal progressive enclaves of the Northeast (except the far NE) and California and Hawaii. They are small islands of repression in a sea of liberty.

Anything that gives the “progressive” leftists the vapors is a good thing.

Yeh, giving the Left the vapors is good for sure.
Concerning the 2021 map though; Texas Governor Abbott has promised to sign a constitutional carry bill should it reach his desk. It’s on his desk but I don’t believe he’s signed it yet. Don’t understand the hold up. Hope he’s not getting wobbly about it….
Agreed. The 2A has been the keystone of freedom against tyranny. What do you do though when the progressives are also armed and have the backing of the General Staff of the military. Think Obama's million man army.
Surprised that there are only four “may issue” states. And I live in one of them. Really need to get out of this socialist rathole.
it infuriates me too, and I’m no prog.
Ohio should be a Constitutional Carry state, but our Decepticon governor DeWine, after promising us that he’d sign it to get elected, turned around and did everything he could to keep it from passing. Grrrrrr.
I’m surprised at the cluster of no-issue states around Texas in 1986. Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas. Really shows how bad it was back then.
I remember how controversial it was when Florida took the lead in going shall-issue. Blood would be running in the streets! Every little argument would be settled with gunfire.
See my tagline.
He signed it on June 16. Their were 6 other 2nd A bills as well, including making Texas a 2nd A sanctuary state.
Hard to imagine Texas was ever a no issue state.
Honestly surprised at how the southeast is still hanging on to government control like that. Even if the “have” to give you a permit, it’s still a permit i.e. permission from the state to exercise a right.
The spawned the idea of Sanctuary Cities but the Right has taken this tactic to create Second Amendment Sanctuary’s using the same ploy.
Two can play the same game with the same rules to totally opposing outcomes.
Alabama has an open carry bill in the legislature. We’re hoping this will be finally passed and signed this Fall.

Alabama: The Alabama legislature has adjourned. HB405, permitless carry, has passed the House Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee by a voice vote. SB308, the lifetime carry permit bill, has now passed the legislature. It has the fee at $300 and is on its way to Gov. Kay Ivey.
Glad to hear, also the 2nd A sanctuary state bill. Guess I was asleep at the wheel when these were signed.
The growth in right to carry mirrors the growth in the governments’ intrusions into all other areas. That fact reflects the foundation of the right to bear arms - against tyrannical government.
Most (if not all) Progressives have never had a shot fired AT THEM IN ANGER, most conservatives (as in former and current military) have had Americas Enemies try to kill them on more than one occasion, we don’t freeze or piss our pants when we take incoming fire, we don’t like it but we have learned to deal with it.
HAVE THEY? And this include the “PERFUMED PRINCES/PRINCESSES” of our current General Staff.
Probably 98% of whom are REMFs; you know, the people back in the rear with all the gear, BUT DON’T KNOW HOW TO USE IT!
