They were not all on skag
Haven’t you heard? They’re no good. They’re white;
I’ve never heard these and i own their catalogue and a lot of live stuff like Ya Yas times 100
Thanks
Here’s one that’s unusual but recorded....
Around 200 million last count and a bevy of young trim

Did you notice that Mick missed an intended note by a half step in bar 9 of his 16 bar solo? Nobody’s perfect of course although some instrumentalists seem to approach perfection for long stretches. Mick was a great live musician too of course so he immediately adjusted his solo to make it look as if the mistake was intended. A gutarist’s guitarist.
Now now, Wardaddy. Behave!
The Rolling Stones?
Man, those guys had the right look, and a decent sound.
Sad they never got their break, they could have really made it.
Saw him on the same tour in New Haven - they had John Mcvie on bass - great show for a small venue.
Huge Mick Taylor fan. The stretch they had when he was in the band was absolutely amazing. Just happened to be there when they were at their most creative age but if you watch live versions of the songs with and without there is a huge difference in the level and complexity of the music. In the end he should have just let them take credit for Time Waits for No One.........I do agree that Ron Wood fits in personality wise more and he and Keith work well together. But Mick was one of a kind.

Great instrumental. I wonder who’s on blues harp there, Mick or Brian? They both play a mean one.

This spring 50 “remastered” tracks (some with new vocals) leaked from the studio.
Someone has put the spring leak on youtube (with chapter marks to songs) but it doesn’t have a lot of the pre-1970 material that still sits in the vaults.

“MT made them imo - at least their best music.”
A great one with Mick Taylor was “Can’t you hear me knocking”. Stones at their peak.
i hated ron wood...
Mick was pretty straight(relative term) when he joined the band, not so much at the end, damn shame
Wow, thanks for posting! As my guitarist son says, “Look, Dad, no tapping!”
(The boy can play a mean MT ‘Knockin’! — and far better than Ronnie Wood ever could.)
Listening to Sticky Fingers now. Great fun!
Not to diss Ronnie Wood... but his style just doesn’t match what Mick Taylor could do. Wood helped Jagger write It’s Only Rock n Roll, but the lead guitar-work on that song is all MT and sublime for it (probably my favorite of all his work).
I dunno what Some Girls would have been w/ MT, but it was ALL Stones — so whatever Wood did w/ Richards worked out just fine. But let’s not forget the greatest rock n roll backbone in the world, Watts-Wyman.
"This song wasn't going anywhere until this cat named Mick grabbed an extra guitar on the floor and started strumming. I feel lucky to have the same name as him."--- Mick Jagger
I was flipping through the channels the other night and I came across: “Ladies and gentlemen, the rolling stones” with Taylor play Sticky Fingers and older material. I couldn’t believe how good they sounded with him.
Nice find. The Rolling Stones used to play smaller venues (unannounced in many cases) to warm up for the arena/stadium gigs.
