I drove from SoFla to the Outer Banks one year in a 1980 300D sedan. When I finally got to Nags Head in the middle of the night, there was a dead bat in the grill of the Mercedes. Didn't do any damage - it was a tough car. My friends that I was meeting had a good time with it though.

I loved that car. Wish I still had it.

Those were bulletproof. As far as I can tell, it was the last of "forever" cars from Mercedes.

My stepmom had a mid 90s Mercedes and it was not reliable and scheduled maintenance cost more than my car payments on a Chevy Caprice. She got rid of it after it broke down a week after it had gone through its Annual "check everything" check-up.
