Those were bulletproof. As far as I can tell, it was the last of "forever" cars from Mercedes.

My stepmom had a mid 90s Mercedes and it was not reliable and scheduled maintenance cost more than my car payments on a Chevy Caprice. She got rid of it after it broke down a week after it had gone through its Annual "check everything" check-up.

The problems w/ those cars in FL were always the a/c and rust. I had to get rid of it because of the rust coming in from the sun roof. The a/c was a grand/year to maintain down here.

The engine? Hehh.. TRY to stop it!
