I always loved how that show reflected the real world of radio. As a former radio DJ, I worked with every one of these characters: The annoying sales guy (Herb), the rebel DJ (Johnny Fever), the laid-back common-sense DJ (Venus), the young program director full of ideas (Andy), the nerdy newsman (Les), the clueless station owner (Mr. Carlson), the unassuming traffic director (Bailey), and the receptionist who kept the place running (Jennifer).

Loni & Howard would not have been missed in my opinion. Les, Herb, bailey, Carlson and Andy made the show for me.

If you ever worked in the broadcasting salt mines—as I did—you knew someone like Herb. Mr. Bonner played that part to a “T.” R.I.P.

#7. Re “I watched it for those two boobs...Herb and Les”.
Is that what Loni Anderson called them? Just asking.

Funeral by Ferryman. Keeping it young and hip.
Bye bye.
Very well played, I'll bet Frank would approve.
RIP and may God comfort his family and loved ones.

“With God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly”
IMO, the funniest line ever said on television.

Maybe wild turkeys can fly, but the plumped-up version they serve on Thanksgiving need help to procreate, let alone fly! This was according to an old friend who raised them.
