I thought about that quote the other day when I heard an elected Republican ask a Leftist why “birthing person” should now be used by the government.

The politician was kind, generous, courteous, the sweetest thing in the world to the guy. He managed to say that “mother” had been used “for a very long time.” Isn’t that understatement so, so cute and cunning?

Instead of pretending the fool was a co-equal and having legitimate arguments, the politician should have pointed out what degree of fool he was in no uncertain terms, even using “elegant” profanity. But he did not, granting, as it were, an official hearing to the man promoting the stupidity.

But don’t expect elected Republicans to do anything as “assertive” as indignantly lambasting such a craven outrage. Republican politicians probably think having an erection during sexual intercourse is too assertive.

The motive behind “birthing person” change in the law code is part of the ongoing canceling campaign, and the main motive behind the canceling campaign is to cancel IDENTITY. “Mother” is an identity specific to a woman who chose not to have an abortion.

We are at war now, and, while the grassroots are spoiling for a fight, elected Republicans, cut out of the Paul Ryan mold, prefer to pick up their skirts and tiptoe around the most outrageous insults to common sense.
