LOL! I imagine if I keep at it, I’ll maintain a slow-steady decline if I make it another 20 years in this world.
10 sets per body part with weights is what I aim for at least once a week. If I can do it twice a week even better. Work life balance prohibits it sometimes. Hardest part is just getting to the gym.
I did say I needed to massively up the cardio because the metabolism clearly isn’t what it used to be, so reality is hitting me there.
Thankfully, my body doesn’t agree with beer.

Strength and endurance don’t decline much if you do the work.
But recovery from injury is a bitch...and it takes away your routine for increasing amounts of time.
I guess until it takes it all. But there’s guys on this forum still lifting in their 70s. Jack La Lane lifted and swam the day he died. Went in his sleep.
Even at 44 you must take days off. At my age I take 2 per week. And if something hurts (not burns), I stop.
Something as simple as tendonitis can take you out for 6-10 weeks.
