Here in Pittsburgh PA area, I remember going to them in the 1970s here, and also to H. Salt Fish & Chips.

We still have Captain D’s and Long John Silver’s, but I haven’t eaten at either in decades.

I wonder how many people under, say, 60 even know who Arthur Treacher was.
Treacher played many butler roles. Here he is with Shirley Temple.

(I have already previewed or do not wish to preview this composition.)
I liked the pepperoncini pepper on there.

We still have Long John Silver’s. Not bad but just not the same. Had an Arthur Treacher’s in the food court at Northland Center in Southfield, Michigan back in 1999/2000. The whole mall finally closed later on.

From 1965 to 1992 (dates approximate), my first cousin owned and operated the A&W in Madison, Wisconsin, on Monona Way as I recall. No in door seating and service with car hops.
He did close for part of the winter.

We recently got a new Baskin Robbins here. Jamocha Almond Fudge is my all-time favorite ice cream!
And (not sure it is still there?) there was an A&W as part of a large gas station/convenience store fairly close. Nothing like going to the A & W drive-in as a kid, or sitting at the window, having ice-cold root beer! YUM.
