LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — Even though California has lifted its mask mandate for most businesses, many people are unsure what to do when it comes to ditching their face coverings.
Mindy Pfeifer was one of the only people seen walking into a Trader Joes’ in Studio City on Tuesday.
“I felt rebellious in Trader Joe’s right now without a mask,” said Mindy Pfeifer. “I feel like everyone was looking at me, and they were, and then I kept looking around…I feel like I had to justify. Even to the checker, they were like ‘You’re good, you’re good.’ I know but it feels weird.”
Other shoppers within the store said they were unsure what to do when it came to shedding their masks.
One shopper named Dennis said he was ready to take his mask off two weeks ago but still hasn’t.
“I probably would have taken it off if there was more than one person, but each time that I’ve come in here I’ve only seen one person without a maks,” he said.
Many more customers inside a Ralphs store went in bare-faced. The sign at the door read, “Masks required unless you are fully vaccinated.”
At Laque Nail Salon in North Hollywood, masks are still required for everyone
Owner Marina Fermanyan said she’s waiting for the guidance that comes out of the state’s occupational safety meeting tomorrow.
“We are choosing to keep it as it is, just the same way customers come in with masks on, the staff and employees with masks on,” Fermanyan said.
She said she’s getting mixed reactions from customers — some said they wouldn’t come in unless masks are required while others said they are ready to take their masks off.

The annual Salem Jazz and Soul Fest in
mid August was cancelled again this year
but recently they had a facebook post saying they may reconsider. The fest is
outside.

I have been part of a college radio station in MA since 1981 and we were told community members like me couldn’t go into the building but could do remote
shows from home.I have been doing just that. __We are awaiting word about
possibly being allowed back into the
building__.As it is students were told
in Mar of 2020 that only one person could be im the studios at a time and had to
sanitize when they were done.

state of emergency yesterday.My station
is part of the state university system.
My job is with Postal Service and we are
supposed to keep them on till we hear
otherwise.Ususlly mine is not over
rhe nose.Am hoping any day now the requirement will be dropped.

I just spent two weeks in Michigan and Indiana. Lots of stores still had their signs up but said nothing when I ignored them all.
I’m back in Maryland now but haven’t really been to any stores this week to see how the sheep are doing.
A lot of signs read “Fully Vaccinated” can skip the masks. I’m not proving my status to anyone
Possibly.Actually one co worker I know
is fully vaccinated and still wears it...another is fully but does not.I am fully vaccinated
and usually have it cover my mouth but not my nose and occasionally pull it down all
the way.
And since I mentioned Salem, that city
had to painfully (for them) “cancel”
Halloween last year (painful as they
make lots of money).Despite the “please don’t come” announcements some still did
visit the city in Oct. and tried to see
what they could despite events being called off. Shops, restaurants, tours
(if allowed) were socially distanced and
sanitized.
Back in business this fall.
This is our downfall...people think going with the crowd is more important than law.

We are in Atlanta and we we have pretty much stopped wearing the mask. Every day more people are dropping them.

Notice that most of the continual mask-wearers are women and beta males. This is why I am not in favor of women in positions of authority. Sure, there are those rare women who stand up for freedom & justice even when it costs them, but face it: most women are conformists.

Most of the stores I frequent I go to on a regular basis so I didn't want to be the first to test the waters when the large mask required signs were still up. If other people were coming out of the store without masks I would put mine back in my pocket and nobody said anything. I just got back from a regional grocery store chain that still has masks recommended posted. Half of the employees were not wearing masks. That is progress...

I was up that way about a month ago for a few days of dog sitting. I went to the grocery store a couple of times and everybody wore masks. As soon as people exited the store, the masks came off for the most part. That is similar to my downstate metro area. That said I’ve heard comments from relatives suggesting you are correct..

Just went on an appointment and at the end was asked if I had taken the shot. Was informed I didn’t have to answer if I didn’t to either.
“Nope. I’ll be honest with you and no, I did not take the vaccine. I am not anti-vaccine. I am anti this vaccine.
Took the flu shot 2 years in a row and didn’t get sick. Took Shingles shot 2 months and ready for my booster but, I will not take some goo that was created at warp speed”
“Well, from now on we’ll need to wear masks when around each other.
I got the vaccine but, not comfortable being around anyone who hasn’t”
