Some Residents Confused On If They Should Continue Wearing Face Masks As Mandate Is Lifted

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — Even though California has lifted its mask mandate for most businesses, many people are unsure what to do when it comes to ditching their face coverings.

Mindy Pfeifer was one of the only people seen walking into a Trader Joes’ in Studio City on Tuesday.

“I felt rebellious in Trader Joe’s right now without a mask,” said Mindy Pfeifer. “I feel like everyone was looking at me, and they were, and then I kept looking around…I feel like I had to justify. Even to the checker, they were like ‘You’re good, you’re good.’ I know but it feels weird.”

Other shoppers within the store said they were unsure what to do when it came to shedding their masks.

One shopper named Dennis said he was ready to take his mask off two weeks ago but still hasn’t.

“I probably would have taken it off if there was more than one person, but each time that I’ve come in here I’ve only seen one person without a maks,” he said.

Many more customers inside a Ralphs store went in bare-faced. The sign at the door read, “Masks required unless you are fully vaccinated.”

At Laque Nail Salon in North Hollywood, masks are still required for everyone

Owner Marina Fermanyan said she’s waiting for the guidance that comes out of the state’s occupational safety meeting tomorrow.

“We are choosing to keep it as it is, just the same way customers come in with masks on, the staff and employees with masks on,” Fermanyan said.

She said she’s getting mixed reactions from customers — some said they wouldn’t come in unless masks are required while others said they are ready to take their masks off.

BTW, NYS is claiming a 70% vaccination rate.

Albany is lying.

“It feels weird” to not have a mask...

Adults who are unsure need to seek help.

One last BTW: The same NYS health systems that are insisting on muzzles, are allowing people to pack in like sardines in elevators in their facilities.

Go figure.

I’ll take traffic, crowding, and cutting in line in a free society over masking and anti-social distancing under tyranny.

Are you suggesting an immune system?!!! That could protect us?

Now wouldn’t that be something?!

It would be as if our Creator wanted us to be healthy and cared for. As if He wanted us to live and love Him and for us to stay alive in order to fulfill some purpose in life.

That would be amazing.

“How are they going to unring the fear porn they sold for the last 15 months”

Truthfully, rather than 15 months, the fear porn was a simple two-week blitz that was so effective it lasted 15 months — so far. Some were so brainwashed they’ve fallen into Stockholm Syndrome and now are simpatico with their oppressors, and never will snap out of it.

Hey, there’s nothing wrong with Dollarama!

Last year I gave my husband five Mason jars, $2 a piece, for Christmas (not the only thing I gave him), purchased at the dollar store, and he loved them. He puts coffee beans in one, flour and other dry goods in the rest.

It’s also a great place to buy Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas decorations.

Oops! I should have said that it’s a great place to get “day off” decorations...

Monday when I went for a pedicure, everyone was mask-less, even the employees. The owner and most of the workers are Asian, so I was surprised — and happy. I’ve had short discussions with the owner, and he’s very pro free enterprise and loves the American Dream, so I consider him a patriot.

“NYS lifted everything except muzzles yesterday.”

We’ll be driving to NYS tomorrow, and I’m sad to hear that masks still are a thing. I hope that in our neck of the woods there are mostly scofflaws who ignore that.

Businesses, especially big biz, and health care settings don’t allow scofflaws.

No muzzle? No job, no appointment.

The thing that gets me is nobody is suing.

A lawsuit would settle this hash ASAP.

And I was kidding about people packing onto elevators in healthcare facilities.

Also, they’ve got healthcare workers taking time away from patient care to run around sanitizing anything anyone touches even though that’s not an issue for CoupFlu.

Really inspires faith in Big Med.

NOT.

The inability of so many people to think for themselves is absolutely astounding. Always waiting on social cues from others to determine one’s behavior is a tragic way to go through life.

Agree completely.

I’ve gone without a mask at my barber shop since the beginning. Also a few golf courses didn’t require to mask up while paying. It was a small bit of normalcy in a crazy world.
