Why didn’t the Republicans use Reconciliation?
Self Vanity | 06/15/2021 | Self Vanity

‘ Why didn’t the Republicans fill the Budget with Billions for Right Wing Causes and rewards for Republicans locales via Reconciliation?

Why did they negotiate, compromise, and let the Dems include their Pet causes, and vanquish dollars for Traditional Freedoms?

Why didn’t the Republicans use Reconciliation?

Because they're nice guys. And as Leo Durocher once remarked, "nice guys finish last."

Democrats struggle to figure out how to win. Republicans struggle to come up with excuses for why they refuse to do what their voters want.

During what period of time? They did use reconciliation...that's how we got tax reform and the repeal of the individual mandate.

When Pelosi and the Dems took over the House that was no longer an option, obviously.

Republicans have done ZERO to limit government over the last 50 years. Most RINOs in fact have sought to make it much larger and more intrusive.

Not to mention they didn’t really want Trump to succeed. It sets a bad precedent for all politicians: a successful President who didn’t work his way through the political ranks.

Because they’re not really Republicans in the definition we hope they’d be.

They’re just government employees that make money off the taxpayer and enrich their friends and donors.

Using tactics like that might result in policies that the Republican base wants. The GOP hates its base. They fantasize about swapping bases with the Dems.

Republicans want to be liked and Democrats want to win.

~~~
Republicans want to get re-elected, individually, whether the party in the majority or minority.
Democrats want to push their radical agendas through in those short periods when they can, because they don’t assume they’ll keep their power.
The reconciliation process was created by the Congressional Budget Act of 1974 and was first used in 1980. Bills passed using the reconciliation process include the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985, the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act of 1996, the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001, the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. - Wikipedia
Because R’s are spineless whimps who like to play nice with the snakes. They are led by bottom feeding crooks who have their pockets lined with re-election donations from sources who directly and vocally oppose most conservative Americans wishes.
Because the RINOs didn’t want to help Trump.
In short
Republicans as a group argue about purity first then try for power.
Rats seek power first, second foremost and always !
