Virginia bear rescued after getting itself stuck in factory ceiling

Volvo manufacturing plant employees were told to stay in the cafeteria during the bear’s evacuation
Frank Miles By Frank Miles | Fox News

Wildlife will always be free, until limitations curb their liberation.

A bear managed to somehow get stuck in the ceiling of a western Virginia manufacturing plant on June 4, according to state wildlife officials. The bear was 20 feet up far from stairs or a ladder.

"After assessing the situation, it was apparent to staff that given the location of the bear, odds were low that it would soon safely leave on its own," Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources officials said on social media. "Considering the plant’s production needs, (it was) decided that the best course of action would be to immobilize the bear and remove it from the area."

Employees of the Volvo manufacturing plant were told to stay in the cafeteria during the bear’s evacuation.

Bear found stuck on power pole in southern Arizona city June 9, 2021

WILLCOX, Ariz. (AP) — A bear in Arizona emerged unscathed from quite the power trip when it became stuck on a utility pole.

Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative, a utility company based in the southern Arizona city of Willcox, was notified Monday morning that a bear was tangled in power pole wires on the outskirts of town.

Werner Neubauer, a company lineman, said they immediately disabled the power so the animal would not get electrocuted. Neubauer then went up in a bucket lift and used an 8-foot (2-meter) fiberglass stick to try to nudge the bear to go down. He even tried talking to it.

“I think I told him I was gonna help him get down the pole,” Neubauer said. “I know he couldn’t understand me. But it did get his attention.”

After grabbing and biting the stick at times, the bear eventually climbed down and ran off into the desert.

I am a line bear for the county
And I drive the main road
Searching in the sun for another pic-a-nic basket
I hear hot dogs in the wires
I can hear them through the whine
And the Arizona line bear
Is still on the line beep beep beep beep beep de beepy beep

I posted the story on my FB day it happened. My neighbors on either side work at Volvo which is 10 minutes from my house. We have bears all over. Sadly, last year they decided my pool was a good place to be in. Not pleased!

Out west black bears (the breed) are brown in color but still they are called black bears by zoologists.

You see an occasional brown black bear in the upper midwest, but not many.

A momma bear and her two cubs came into town last year. They took up residence in a tree across the street from the ice cream store. They wouldn`t come down for two days until an employee brought out several barrels of strawberry and blueberry ice cream and put them next to the tree.

Why did they send a painter up to get the bear? White shirt, white pants, the classic uniform of a painter.

And furthermore, where’s the video? I would love to see how Mr. Bainter the Painter got that bear out of there in a peaceable manner.

Not the same bear.

It would have been more impressive and more ridiculous if the bear was able to get from Virginia to Arizona but was unable to avoid getting stuck in factory ceilings and electrical wires.
