A Pekingese named Wasabi won Best in Show at the 145th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show on Sunday. The reserve slot, or runner-up, was given to Bourbon the whippet. The Westminster Dog Show is the second-oldest continuous sporting event in the United States, after the Kentucky Derby. It has run through world wars, previous pandemics and economic depressions. Last year, amid the pandemic, the event was moved to June.
The competition was held at the Lyndhurst Estate in Tarrytown, New York. It was the first time the competition has taken place outside of New York's Madison Square Garden, where it has been held every year since 1877. It was was relocated this year because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

That agility competition was amazing. All the different things those dog could do, almost all with just the hand motions of their trainer.
I watched this entire dog show and there are no words for my disappointment last night when I heard her say the BIS was the Pekingese. I, personally, thought the French Bulldog and the Samoyed were absolutely beautiful. And, I think, neither breed have ever won BIS at Westminster. It would have been different and wonderful if either of those had won; but, noooo, we get a dog that looks like it comes from another planet.
Best comment ever!
That show is the National Dog Show. I have been watching that dog show for years. It was really a small show at the beginning; but, it has grown and is a very big dog show.
Hubby actually sat down with me to watch the Agility and he had fun. It was a good event.
Is your Dobie healed from her spots?
My wife will be tickled because that was her reply she came up with the instant I read the post to her.
The dog was a prop, same as potUS now!
It was political just as the nobel prize is now.
Or in some cases, “Hoo, Dog.., uh, Creatures”
The entire Westminster Dog Show has a big contract with Purina
Put a stick in its butt and mop the floor with it.

Cousin Itt is more attractive.

I have several of those under my bed. Where's my trophy?

You nailed it with your images Ezekiel! They are perfect.

Pekes do not believe they are dogs either.
Believe it or not, from a DNA standpoint, Pekes are one of the closest breeds related to wolves.
That is a myth. We have three and they are a low maintenance unless you show them. As family pets we rarely brush them and they do not shed much. In the summer because it is so hot here, we give them a puppy cut.
