Good question, 28 hours is probably something that someone just pulled out of their ass.
If one were to speculate, one might say something about assets on Diego Garcia, Guam, and also the 7th fleet and all those boomer subs. 14 hours? See, I can do it too.
But that would all be contingent upon an American CIC who isn’t owned by the enemy.
16hrs from CONUS, flight time.
Assuming tankers en route.
Add 6-8hrs prep and loading.
But we always have assets in that theater. All kinds of voodoo.
Not to mention nobody outside Chinese media thinks they have ever hit a maneuvering target at sea.
