I got my hard white wheat, which I like a lot better than the red.
I’m interested in learning how to grow some of it.

I pinged an expert for ya, Metmom! ;)
Last spring was my first serious attempt at growing wheat. It was a disaster, but I was able to apply the lessons learned, and the winter wheat I planted in the fall is looking MUCH better!
Most hard wheats are winter wheats, so if you like you could take some you bought for grinding, and plant them in the fall. They get planted around the same time as garlic. In fact mine are in a combined “wheat and garlic” bed, which is helping control the weeds and pests. Be aware that yours is most likely also a dwarf wheat, which makes harvesting by hand awkward.
Plant densely. They need to be packed together to outcompete the weeds. But make sure to leave walking space every 4 feet or so, so you can reach everything.
I would love to share harvesting tips, but I haven’t had a successful enough harvest to find out!
