There’s no doubt that the drive-by media considers Trump supporters to be a bunch of gun-toting, Bible-clinging, flag-waving deplorables. They despise us. They despise our God. They despise American greatness.
The media propagandists are the disciples of former President Barack Hussein Obama, the man who promised to fundamentally transform America.
So it’s not much of a surprise that MSNBC contributor Mara Gay announced on national television that she was offended and triggered by the presence of an American flag.
Ms. Gay, who is also a member of the editorial board of The New York Times, said she was “disturbed” to see “dozens of American flags flown by supporters of President Trump during a weekend trip to Long Island, New York.
She also said she saw pickup trucks adorned with profane message about President Joe Biden and accused Trump supporters of using Old Glory to send a message to people like her: “This is my country … not your country. I own this.
“The reality is here that we have a large percentage of the American population — I don’t know how big it is, but we have tens of millions of Trump voters who continue to believe that their rights as citizens are under threat by simple virtue of having to share the democracy with others,” Gay said. “I think that as long as they see Americanness as the same as one with Whiteness, this is going to continue.”
I do not personally know Ms. Gay so it’s unfair for me to call her a racist or a supremacist. However, she clearly holds bigoted viewpoints. Consider how she described folks on Long Island.
“I was on Long Island this weekend visiting a really dear friend, and I was really disturbed. I saw, you know, dozens and dozens of pickup trucks with explicatives [sic] against Joe Biden on the back of them, Trump flags, and in some cases just dozens of American flags, which is also just disturbing … Essentially the message was clear. This is my country. This is not your country. I own this,” Gay said.
I say better to be a flag-waving deplorable who wants to make America great than a godless socialist bigot who wants to turn our nation into a third-world hell hole.
What country does she think she’s in ?
This is why the Americans despise the liberals.

I find it disturbing that she’s out running around in public.
Right we have to change to accommodate people like her. Not the other way around.
If we went to Iran, Syria, China or Pakistan and told them: take out your flags and the leader’s pictures, and I want to have Easter and Christmas off with pay and put up a crucifix, a cross or a mezzuzah. How about it? Good luck.
I remember a school somewhere in the US where the school district gave up and removed the American flags from classrooms because “they made the immigrants nervous.”

I'm 77. Too many have lost the Patriotism AND Christian principals of my youth. The result of that loss is chaos in every arena...sports, schools, homes, towns, police, churches.

I’m 72 myself...I really don’t care what anyone says, I believe those of us that are our age have lived the best years of this great country...From our childhood up until our 40’s....
If the NYT had any character at all, employees who felt this way about the flag and the USA would be fired on the spot.
Their freedom of speech would not be impaired in any way as they would still be free to write a letter to the editor.
But they would no longer be employees using their position with the company to damage America.
