Pick a car, any car, and there is someone who loves it, regardless of conventional wisdom or popular opinion.

I drove a 1995 Ford Escort wagon for 16 years. Gave it to my twin boys and they wrecked it 3 times in 6 months.

I wish I had kept.

I had an Edison NJ Escort stationwagon... terrible.

Your model escorts were made overseas, since the colts were Mitsubishi, perhaps the Escorts of later vintage were also.

I had a 1979 baby blue Mercury Zephyr station wagon that my dad found and he thought I needed for a second car. I paid $900 for it in 1988. Of course I was horrified because it was a station wagon and I was 28 but that all went away the first time I drove it to go fishing.

It was the precursor to the SUV and I loved it. All my stuff stayed dry, my bird dogs loved it and I could sleep in it. Ended up trading it off on Subaru and got $2,100 trade in value.
