Pick a car, any car, and there is someone who loves it, regardless of conventional wisdom or popular opinion. And our automotive lives are richer and fuller because of this. Case in point, this 1976 Datsun B210 for sale on Hemmings.com. Once positioned as an affordable fuel-miser, it's exactly the kind of car that typically gets used up and disappears from the collective consciousness. But not this one, as it turns out. From the seller's description: All original, extremely solid, retains all factory equipment from new, Original window sticker, Runs and drives great, feels strong with no hesitations, rattles, squeaks, or fading inside. Not very many of these little datsuns left in this condition. $13,500

In the summer of 1976, I was working for a medical lab in Portland. They had two of those CVCC wagons, used for picking up samples and delivering reports at various hospitals and clinics in the area. I had heard that the top speed was 92 mph, and proved it on SE McLoughlin Blvd early one Sunday morning.

Fun little cars with four-speeds and front wheel drive. You could push yourself way back in the seat and exhale completely, then set the seatbelt, and it would hold you in place through any sort of maneuvers.

We own a '55 Coupe DeVille that's right out of a time capsule

Do you have any pics of it on the web? Those surely were golden years for Cadillac. My uncle has a '57 Eldorado Seville that he must have bought in the early 60s and restored in the 70s.

I always loved Cadillacs and now that I'm "a certain age", I don't like anything they put out enough to consider buying them.

Had a 1977 Celica ST - best car I ever drove. Should have held on to it.

My dad had a ‘72 240Z for a few years. Five of us kids abused it during that time, and when he sold it, it would barely do 90 and you couldn’t see the road behind for the oil smoke.

$13K???...that’s triple the price when it was new! IIRC the dashboards get destroyed from UV rays and crack and really get nasty. The seats too!

My first car was a red Datsun 210 that looked like your car, only in red - I drove that until it got totaled in 1989 .. I don’t miss it ...

Saw a trailer for an ‘80s throwback movie on YouTube recently featuring a very nice 510 wagon. It was either nicely restored or a survivor like the 210 in the article.

In 1978 I had a Datsun 510, cobbled together from an engine and other parts from two other Datsun models. I got it running, got it titled, and called it “The Zeke”.

I worked on all these Japanese cars in this thread.
They were all much better cars than the Detroits Vegas and Pintos, Bobcats, and Chevettes.
Ethanol fuel finally killed most of them and the bodies crumpled like tin cans when you leaned on them.
Chrysler K cars gave em an ugly run for the money.

I bought one for $40 in the mid 80’s.
Ended up snapping it in half while off roading.

I would like to drive a Datsun 200SX with the shade kit again. It had a Kit like talking voice! “Your door is ajar. Your door is ajar.” It was my high school car.

In silver, with some wheel well flares and Cragar rims this would look nice.

I had a 1979 baby blue Mercury Zephyr station wagon that my dad found and he thought I needed for a second car. I paid $900 for it in 1988. Of course I was horrified because it was a station wagon and I was 28 but that all went away the first time I drove it to go fishing.

It was the precursor to the SUV and I loved it. All my stuff stayed dry, my bird dogs loved it and I could sleep in it. Ended up trading it off on Subaru and got $2,100 trade in value.
