Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm on Sunday warned in stark terms that the US power grid is vulnerable to attacks.
Asked By CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union” whether the nation’s adversaries have the capability of shutting it down, Granholm said: “Yeah, they do.”
“There are thousands of attacks on all aspects of the energy sector and the private sector generally,” she said, adding, “It’s happening all the time. This is why the private sector and the public sector have to work together.”-
It was one of the last things the big I did in office was sign a bill directing the DOE to plan for and harden the power grid for emp and other strategic attacks.
How much of that was followed up by the next administration and what more should be done is where we need to be.

Since she’s a democrat, this is probably a pretext for another looting of the Treasury.

I have thought how easy it would be to shoot up the substation that is right next to the powerplant. For a couple dollars of ammo you could shut down power for days to tens of thousands. Same thing with a water tower, just put a couple of holes in it in the middle of the night.
