AFAIK - of the 2 crashes of 737-max both were attributed to the automated nose down control.

The other issue, exploding engine, was a design defect from rolls Royce and not a Boeing issue per se. (and didn’t cause a crash)

The electrical problem has NOT caused a crash (and stuff like that in new designs isn’t uncommon)

Every new plane has growing pains. Arguably the two crashes are attributable to poor piloting skills too.
