Taupin married Maxine Feibleman a Jewish girl from Vicksburg Mississippi his first of many

Well her grandma and cousins were there....the Sklars....whom I knew

They had a lake house....and all the women were Scandinavian blonde or ginger

One of Maxine’s younger cousins my age was a hippie girl who married a guy from the Air Force and they moved to Guatemala I think....Antigua ...I saw them there in the late 80s or Belize city back before it was popular

An antebellum Jewish family....weird the Taupin connection isn’t it....dry goods and ship chandlers

They say he wrote Don’t Let the Sun Come Down on Me at their Eagle Lake....lake cabin

Those delta ox bow lakes with cypress and the dusty heat from the cotton fields give magnificent sunsets....huge reflection of the sun as it disappears
