Nations League final in Denver between the United States and Mexico was marred by unruly fan behavior that included objects thrown onto the field and a brief pause in the game because of fans using an anti-gay chant.
Referee John Pitti resumed the match after three minutes as players on both sides pleaded with the crowd to stop using the chant.
This was the second tournament match to be halted due to anti-gay chants at Empower Field at Mile High. Mexico's semifinal win over Costa Rica was also briefly paused. That match also saw several fans ejected from the stadium
Should the chant continue to be used, the referee has the authority to send the players to the locker rooms and can also call for the match to be abandoned.

And my nephews both play now including one just started high school and they have big brawls and fights at the high school games between the players when my nephew’s team gets very far ahead.
By the time all that was finished no one even cared who won or not.

I did write some other things, though that could have tipped you off.
The fact is that Mexico showed little interest in her northern possessions with perhaps the exception of Texas. Central Mexico, the heartland can be a pleasant and prosperous place to live. As you travel north, the lands become deserts. Few Mexicans wanted to trade life in civilized and prosperous Mexico for a hardscrabble life on the northern frontier.
It’s easy to forget that Mexico despite being younger as a nation has a longer history. They had a university up and running 85 years before Harvard. And because of mineral wealth, Mexico was far wealthier than the 13 colonies. Our dollar was based on the coins issued by the Mexico City mint and Mexican ‘dollars’ were legal tender until the 1850s.
All of these advantages were negated by the crappy politics and politicians that Mexico has endured pretty much from its founding as a nation.
The irony is that gold was discovered in California, right as Mexico was in the midst of losing it militarily to a very small detachment of the U.S. Army. Utah being settled by Mormons ironically hoping to get out of the reach of the U.S. government. Nevada became a state early pretty much because of silver discoveries and Arizona/New Mexico weren’t admitted as states until 1912.
My apologies FRiend. As I said Mexican school children are taught they we ‘’stole’’ the Southwest from them and their mission is to ‘’out breed us’’ by popping out kids when they get here.
It infuriates me to no end how they’re given free health care, free education, how as native born Americans we have to “Press 1 for English’’. I never do. If you wait a few seconds while on the phone when this happens the English speaking voice comes back on.
In in light of the largess (or stupidity) in Americans being so generous in allowing these parasites access to OUR social welfare systems they pull $22 billion a year out of this nation’s economy and send it back to Mexico.

All of his teeth GONE! Scars on his knees and a big scar down the side of his back. All in a few short seasons.

My granddaughter, born in St Louis, MO got to pay out-of-state tuition at San Diego State for two years. Meanwhile students who had no right to be here at all paid in-state tuition.
And then there is the two-sided sheet of paper I get with every medical insurance statement stating my rights to appeal, in maybe 15 languages...
That was a fantastic game, one of the best I’ve seen from the USMNT in a long time.
It’s always great to beat Mexico.
