In my understanding, the best way, by far, to quickly and safely eliminate triglycerides is by reducing carbohydrate ingestion, starting with all high and medium Glycemic Index/Glycemic Load foods. Going the next step to lower/low carb/Keto will knock those triglycerides down in a couple days to a small fraction of their prior amount. To be fair, extended, intense exercise will do much the same, as blood sugar (glucose) is used up by your muscles. Triglycerides are the in-between step to storing excess blood sugar in a fat cell. Unfortunately, our bodies get to a point where even throwing these into a final fat cell doesn't work in a timely fashion, so we get large amounts that circulate for a very long time.

It is disgusting we have allowed ourselves to believe the best option to address our terrible habits is to take a drug that breaks another needed process.

You are so right. Since I started the keto diet about 3 years ago, my triglycerides are quite low and my blood sugar is normal. I’ve also dropped a lot of weight, although I never hit my goal and am now struggling to maintain. I am still much better off that I was before, though.

Then there is this:
