That is an interesting house. Looks like a prepper’s house or one from the movies with the giant worms.

Homeowners Magdalena and Heriberto Sánchez reported hearing a thunderous sound before finding the gigantic pit.

Based on the size of the pit and proximity to the house, I’d be concerned!

After we left Florida, Scott Lake in Lakeland Florida in 2008 was completely drained by a sinkhole, which swallowed all the Aquatic Wildlife including the alligators. I watch some videos of it. It was pretty impressive.

I can’t imagine the eart just swallowing up your property. It’s just gone!
I wonder if any insurance covers this.

...the Diamond Crystal Salt Company salt mine under the lake filled with water. An oil rig contracted by Texaco was doing exploratory drilling above the mine at the time.[3] The drilling likely started a chain of events that turned the shallow lake from fresh to brackish water, with a deep hole

One needs to appear in Washington, D.C., starting right under The Capitol Building, and extending out to all the Federal agencies therein.

I just did some quick web research on it. If a sinkhole damages your home, it is like an earthquake — your normal policy excludes it. But you can buy a rider or a separate policy to cover building damage or loss caused by sinkholes. Texas and Florida require insurance companies to offer sinkhole insurance.
What I didn’t find is what happens if your entire LAND just disappears. This isn’t uncommon along sea cliffs. Every few years, coastal erosion wipes out cliff land in California...along with the houses on the land. In many places, the value of the land far exceeds the value of the structure.
