This is so weird. Neither the groom nor the sister were given time to grieve.It may have been an arranged marriage in which the bride and groom had never met, but were chosen for each other via negotiations between two families, with a dowry paid by the bride's family to the groom. Therefore a sister could step in due to this arranged set-up.
