Correct. It is one atom thick so while it is technically three-dimensional, it is essentially two-dimensional because the third dimension is so much smaller than the other two.

It’s not two dimensional, that’s just a click-bait term. What they are really saying is that it’s thickness is one atom, and regardless of how large or small a dimension is, it’s still a dimension.
