For reasons that would take a while for me to explain I think that’s Trump’s role from now on...King maker. His endorsement will carry huge weight.

Trump is waiting to see how big the RINO purge of the 2022 primaries will be, especially in the state legislatures.

If RINO types like Kemp and Raffensburger are still in office come 2024, then there is no point in Trump running, since the RINOs will once again turn a blind eye to Dem cheating.

Huffines was big on breath and short on details.

Trump’s biggest downfall is his inability to pick good people.

I read on another thread that Texans are, and always will be, pissed at Abbott/Cruz for 'the freeze'.

Gov Abbott make S.E. Texas dependent on Wind Power. Well the Wind Power failed us when we needed it the most. I spent 2 days freezing in the dark and I have friends that spent 3 day freezing in the dark. F Abbott.

Dan Patrick would make a much better Governor.

Abbott is following Ron Desantis’ lead. He is not a leader. However, if he gets in a primary with Paxton he will be in trouble.

So - basically - Abbott is a lot like Trump - “I shut it down” (Axios interview). Both Trump and Abbott “shut it down.” They are two peas in a pod - neither of them are true hard core conservatives - hence the endorsement.

It is interesting that all of a sudden, Abbott has desperately tried to shake his RINO image. He has proclaimed a state of emergency on the border with Mexico, called another legislative session to pass conservative legislation not passed in the regular session, and asked for an apology from Dr. Fauci.
