In today's episode of Cocktails with Ciara, I'm making a classic Singapore Sling! A beautiful summery gin-based cocktail, this drink was requested by my lovely Patreon supporter James Spreacher. I was excited to try it myself for the first time, so let's see how I got on.

Sounds like a Scotch level hangover.
I had my first and only Singapore Sling at the bar in the Raffles Hotel where it was invented. It was bloody awful.
Gin, Schweppes tonic, and a bit of lime is my summertime favorite.
Ahh…Singapore Slings will put you on your butt. Because a well made one can go down quite easily!
As an aside, I do enjoy watching a reasonably attractive woman showing off some thing she’s enthusiastic about… :-)
Thank you!
I think even tonic is too sweet.
Just add soda, fresh squeezed lime, and a few drops of quinine.
Yowzer! I watched the whole video three times. Did she make a drink or something?
Have you ever tried Fever Tree, if you MUST have tonic?
Some like FT Ginger beer and gin.
I’ve never tried it, though, so I can’t recommend.
Last one I had was at the origination Raffles Hotel Singapore Bar.
As I recall (5+ years ago) about $30; not worth it at that price.
Drops of quinine? What kind?
She’s attractive, but more attractive to me in a kind of, well, Enthusiasm sense rather than a physical sense.
She appears to me like one of those women who guys flock to parties, and other women have trouble seeing what they’re still interested in except for some of the more obvious physical features.
Guys like women who are smiling and like hanging around with men… That’s not rocket science!
Hahaha
I have honestly never really enjoyed gin except for a well-made gin and tonic, and Singapore sling, So my tastes are limited. But I like what I like… :-)
Last time I was inpatient at the VA hospital, I tried to break the monotony by telling about how the Singapore Sling is called the gin sling in Singapore, because it was invented in the Long Bar at the Raffles. Maugham called the Raffles “the soul of the East,” or something along those lines.
Ennyhoo, the nurses thought I was talking about some kind of sex chair and got their leg hairs all in cornrows.
Remember the 5-15-80 principle.
She is a regular on the Try Channel. Her tolerance for powerful flavors and alcohol is the stuff of legend.

Why’s everyone talking about drinks?
Beware of the humble martini,
have one or two at most.
Three, you're under the table and
Four, you're under you host!
I had one at Raffles Hotel in Singapore, where they originated. Was quite underwhelmed. Give my vanilla vodka and tonic any day of the week.
