Doesn’t Bear Grylls have a bug recipe survival book?
bugs are yummy. part of the global warming hoax.
I’ll stick with beef and pork, thanks anyways.
Fine coinsurers agree, the perfect libation to accompany cicadas is warm cow urine strained through a dirty sweat sock.
After that vivid description, I think I’ll take a pass on the
Buggy-Menu. Even if they were being sold 10 for $1.00.
Just pass me the roasted cauliflower with sesame seed oil, and I’m fine.
Even if my ribs were touching my backbone, I wouldn’t.......
Oops. Too late.
When Communist Pol Pot took over Cambodia and began mass killings of all who were educated or did not support him, the poverty became so great the people survived by eating insects, and scorpions, and rats. And snakes...
Basically like North Korea, anything the could eat.
They still eat them. Street vendors everywhere had an assortment on the grill.
Cicadas, locusts, grasshoppers, crawdads, salt water prawns, fresh water prawns all taste nearly identical when cooked with the same methods..why? Because there are less than .01% genetic differences between those species. They all are Kingdom: Animalia, Phylum: Arthropoda, Class: Insecta. As are every lobster and every type of crabs as well. It’s semantics the differences between them if you eat shrimp or lobster you are eating “bugs” get over yourself. Scientifically identical to the same bugs in your walls and floor there is not enough difference in DNA to call it anything else.
And that is the point where I realized early in life that I would not eat English peas or a myriad of other things that others may call food. I've eaten shark, frog legs, snake, rabbit and squirrel and even liked it. I draw the line with creepy things and most vegetables that make my brain cringe and my stomach hurl.
I am all for people eating bugs if they want to.
I will stick with meat for now, thanks.
For some reason I’m thinking of Gomer Pyle on the survival course where he gained weight.
Mao
The Great Leap Forward
45 million govt killed in three years
There are reasons not to eat the garbage eaters/bottom feeders
As well as other carnivores
LOL
I didn’t claw my way to the top of the food chain just so I could eat bugs.
I ate roasted insects in Thailand in the street markets. I was chaperoning student on a field trip. The deal was anything I ate they had to eat as well.
The beattle grubs were good and tasted like scrambled eggs. The roasted spiders on a stick needed a dit soda to get down.
If you can eat shrimp, no doubt you can handle some fried grasshoppers with a little garlic and Old Bay seasoning.
