I like the series, watched since it first came out.
Some may be out off by a series where Lucifer is the good guy, but the series is all about Lucifer seeking love and reconciliation with God.

I haven't seen the show, but there have been quite a few sci-fi and fantasy books with that theme. "The Warhound and the World's Pain" by Michael Moorcock comes to mind. And in Neil Gaiman's "Sandman", Lucifer just gets tired of hell and retires to enjoy the sunsets off the coast of Australia - he even tells God "the sunsets are bloody marvelous".
