Who says that? I have heard people say re: aliens "bring it, you big-eyed freak," but I haven't heard anyone say "run."
BTW, no one knows what these things are. Aliens, newly discovered freaks of nature, something--perhaps even harmless--from another dimension?
Speculating as to what they are--whether good or bad--seems premature at this point.

It’s no wonder one begins to sound a little silly as you say...sure, there’s something ‘up there’ it’s been going on for hundreds of years.

I imagine any government sponsored investigation will come back with ‘they are there but we don’t know what they are’.
I saw one flashing across the night sky at great speed not long ago. Might have been some electrical force, quite spectacular it was.
Been a mystery for that long, early reports go back several centuries, it might remain a mystery for much longer. We might never know. The phenomenon, whatever it might be, hasn’t harmed us.
