This is the same Naomi Osaka who just last year couldn’t get enough media attention and interviews. Of course, that was so she could show off her BLM mask and t-shirts, along with her rapper boyfriend who flipped the bird during trophy presentation. If that wasn’t enough she referred to America as a GENOCIDAL COUNTRY during an interview.
"I've often felt that people have no regard for athletes mental health and this rings very true whenever I see a press conference or partake in one,” she wrote, in part. “We're often sat there and asked questions that we've been asked multiple times before or asked questions that bring doubt into our minds and I'm just not going to subject myself to people that doubt me."
Professional sports are a stupid concept. I hope it’s all coming to an end.
She sounds fragile.
“#jlm”? Idiocy!
It’s over. As if using aluminum bats in the majors.
No more net game. No more artistry. Baseline robots.
Ball machines.
I’m an ex-member of the mainstream media and they can be predatory. We know that from politics so I’m inclined to be more sympathetic to her.
The sports media has already been identified as liberally biased like the news media so again why should I be on their side of wanting to interview Osaka.
Play tennis, win tournaments and make millions.
She has no obligation to submit to the media.
Good for her.
What does her sister Nagasaki have to say about it?
I remember as a kid getting up in the morning to watch the Wimbledon final. The best players, like Borg, McEnroe, Connors, were all household names.
Haven’t watched a Tennis match in years, couldn’t name one tennis player now.
I cannot think of a tennis player I would want to hear from except Maria Sharpova.
She renounced her US citizenship to be Japanese.
Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.....
Yep, us too. Today there is a fella named Nadal or something like that,, that was domination g everything, phenomenal player, but the only reason we watched was because my nephew, an aspiring tennis p.ayer, was watching tennis constantly, we had no choice lol. But yeah, back during borg, Connor, McEnroe etc, we watched because they were great, and because nothing else was on that we could get on out roof antenna tv.
Already ahead of you.
Or her other sister, Rose.
Sharapova made one big blunder. She mentioned the news that the sports media was covering up, that Serena Williams was involved with a married man with three childes. Serena broke up a marriage. The media turned on Sharapova overnight.
children...damn that auto correct
“ I cannot think of a tennis player I would want to hear from except Maria Sharpova.”
Double date with Anna Kournikova?
In my day, I wanted Gabriela Sabatini.
Chrissy Everett here.
