I tried for awhile to buy a yugo to make a 1/4 mile car out of. My neighbor said he would help me build a tube chassis and stretch the wheel base long enough to keep it stable with a supercharged big block.
That way folks could go to work Monday morning and explain to their buddies how they got beat by a yugo.

A friend runs a ‘68 Dodge and on a good day with the planets properly aligned gets into the low 9’s.
Usually, he runs brackets, but on the practice runs, I have seen him beaten by some surprising cars in a heads-up race.
Including one that most spectators wondered about and he would NOT open the hood!!! And it was a street(?) car.
Never a Yugo, maybe this year?
