They reintroduced wild otters to a river system in Tennessee and it was a disaster. With no natural predators, they ate all the fish in one section of the river and moved to another and ate all the fish in the nearby ponds. Farmers and fishermen took to carrying rifles to shoot them. Yes, they were protected but just shoot and shut up.
