You could not possibly use a pipe in that manner. It basically only works while flame is applied.

So he fell asleep and somebody stuck it in his mouth and took a photo.

I am not saying he didn’t smoke the crack I’m just saying this photo Is someone’s idea.

You're correct about it only working when flame is applied, but if the crack (fuel) runs out the flame will also run out. That is basic fire 101. Fuel+oxygen+heat equals fire. I know because of my own civilian and Navy experience.

Many people have been found dead with the pipe still in their mouths. Still, it could be staged, but I doubt it. Probably one of his crack buddies taking a joke photo or an extortion pic.
