At this point, it appears the Interior Department could be stalling. Calaway said Ioneer sent its project plans to the agency just as the new administration was taking office, but it’s been several months with no movement. He said he thinks the White House should push the Interior Department to issue the notice.

Ioneer’s project has not been without hurdles. The company has faced opposition from environmental activists who say the company’s project would destroy the habitat of a rare wildflower, known as Tiehm's buckwheat, that is only known to grow in Rhyolite Ridge.
In April, environmental activists scored a legal victory when a federal judge ordered the Fish and Wildlife Service to decide whether to protect the wildflower under the Endangered Species Act.
Meh. We can just get it from China.

Biden’s plan to destroy
America ‘irresponsible’
I’ve read that we’re all endangered species unless global warming is brought under control.
Perhaps that judge knows more than climate scientists.
The people who oppose our mining and refining rare earths all while demanding we become more dependent on them are the people who do the grunt work for China.
These are also the same people who wanted us to believe Trump was a Russian stooge.
Well all those Gold mining TV shows are done then ... America closes its precious metal mines in move to save the planet for the ‘children’. (of wealthy Chinese)
In another DOE-funded project, they partnered with Texas Mineral Resources Corp., Inventure Renewables Inc. and K-Technologies to investigate if the process would be feasible on an industrial scale. The overall goal is to find an economical way to extract rare earth elements and critical minerals, such as manganese and cobalt, from coal byproducts.
“Pennsylvania has the resources. Pennsylvania coals and coal-associated products have the highest concentrations of these rare earth elements and critical minerals in the U.S. Penn State is well positioned to play a vital role in helping industrial partners here in the state,” Pisupati said.

Apparently "critical minerals" are here in the US, probably in greater abundance outside of PA and Xiden's approach is to allow China to be the world leader in yet another industry. How much did Hunter and the Big Guy get paid for this one?
For Biden to justify this due to environmental reasons is absurd. Who better than the United States to accomplish anything with minimal environmental impact. No other country has more will or ability to do so. So go ahead and farm out this endeavor to someone who has no concern about the environment. Perhaps we should insist on doing it ourselves in order to protect the environment. The logic of such a proposal is mind-boggling. Could there possibly be another agenda?
China has been engaged in some major manipulations to be the dominate controller of critical metals. Biden is doing China’s bidding under cover of environmental concerns.
Biden makes his decisions by determining what Trump would do...then doing the opposite.
The illegal Biden regime acts in a very childish way; if Trump did it, they undo it, to the immense harm of our country. The illegal Biden regime has not instituted a SINGLE measure which is beneficial to America. But they have inflicted us with dozens of extremely destructive ones which are intended to destroy America on behalf of their foreign masters.
Biden sure is busy thinking up new ways to F up the country.
