Conservative pundits Clay Travis and Buck Sexton will soon take over Rush Limbaugh’s radio timeslot, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
“The duo will serve up similar right-wing fare, tackling news stories of the day, politics and current events, peppered with call-ins from listeners and humor,” the Journal reported.
“We’re not going to replace Rush Limbaugh, we’re going to have an evolution of the show with fresh voices – those that grew up on Rush and admired him,” president of iHeart Media’s Premiere Networks Julie Talbott said, according to the Journal.
Travis is the founder of conservative sports website Outkick, which was recently acquired by Fox News.
“No one ever replaces a legend, and Rush Limbaugh is the most influential and listened to radio voice across multiple generations,” Travis said in a post on OutKick. “But the battles Rush fought aren’t ending. If anything, they’re just becoming more intense. And I think intense and rigorous and intelligent debate has never been more important in this country than it is right now.”
Sexton is a former CIA intelligence officer-turned-conservative commentator, podcaster, and radio host. He also hosts a nightly show on conservative digital platform The First.
“Needless to say, I could not be more excited, @ClayTravis and I are going to do a great show together. Get ready for it,” Sexton posted on Twitter, along with an American flag emoji.
Since Limbaugh’s death in February, Premiere Networks has been airing reruns of segments of Limbaugh’s show in the noon to 3 p.m. timeslot, with guest host commentary between clips.

I thought Bongino was in this slot WTH???
My local station has put on Dan Bongino in the Rush Limbaugh time slot. I’ll be listening to a different station in the future.
everyone has there time in the sun. I believe that Rush is one of the reasons as a young man I became conservative... its time for us all to move on. The great thing about god is that he puts people like Rush in our lives and with Rush’s passing he will put others in our lives to motivate and inform us. I dont know if those two will be more then just talk show hosts like Rush was but I all ready have others like Levin. We all Must have to realize that the EIB school on conservative thinking is done and its up to all its graduates to uphold and use what we learned over the years.
I thought Bongino was contracted with that network?
Different network, less stations.
Bongino that is. Bongino was on a different network than Rush’s network and is only getting a 1/4 of stations. Sexton is getting around 3/4.
Candace Owens!
Bongino is being syndicated by Westwood One/Cumulus. Travis and Sexton are being syndicated by Premiere Networks, which has been EIB’s syndication partner.
It should be a spirited competition. And remember, Dennis Prager and Steve Deace are already in the timeslot.
I can’t think of many ex-DJs in conservative talk radio.
Where did you get that?
I will miss both the guest hostings with fill ins and the new show with Buck and other.
I really like the post Rush vibe and information, especially Todd Herman. I will have to find a way to fill those three hours. I will not listen to Buck, and Bongino is good for an hour on podcast. So I guess I will look to Hewitt.
Prager has his own show. Salem syndicates it. I’m surprised he hasn’t been picking up more stations.
Maybe James Golden ought to have a show.
Yes, and like many onetime Communists, he became a conservative. This generation’s Whitaker Chambers.
Mark Stein is by far the wittiest of available hosts. He also has the broadest historical background. Must be that Canadian education.
I’ve also been enjoying the Will Cain Podcast.
I always liked him as a foil to Stephen A. Smith.
Cain’s podcasts reveal a guy that is a deep thinker who understands the Left like Rush knew his naked body. Hey, his words not mine.
I still think Jesse Waters fun yet piercing style makes him the best overall choice, but the guy is sitting on a gold mine at Fox.
just have to realize there will never be another Rush. Just like there will never be another Paul Harvey.
I think Buck also worked for The Blaze for a while, as National Security Editor.
Buck Sexton has guest hosted for Rush and he occasionally used to guest host for Beck. He currently has an evening show, 6-9 Eastern. (I wonder who’s getting that slot.)
I believe Lombardi’s replacement was Phil Bengston.
