The same applies to any whole nuts.

Funding: PSI Graham Farquharson Knowledge Translation Fellowship and a Banting and Best Diabetes Centre Sun Life Financial New Investigator Award, as well as the Almond Board of California

I figured as much. It's PR masquerading as scientific research.

A sugar calorie and a fat calorie are definitely not the same.

Fat doesn’t make you fat.

It takes almost as much energy to metabolize fat as it yields.

Sugar produces multiple times the energy it takes to metabolize it.

If you do not want to get kidney stones and oxalates do not eat almonds or drink almond milk. I learned the hard way

Love Target’s Good & Gather Almond milk on daily breakfast of 1/4 cup oatmeal, blueberries, cinnamon and 1 tsp good local honey Not store brand. Have to have that piece of toast with drizzle of olive oil and tiny bit of Smart Butter brand. Very satisfying and filling.

Almonds are good. Unsalted, preferable. I don’t care about any cockamamie folklore.

“The almond is the name of the edible and widely cultivated seed of the [almond] tree.”

The almond - is a seed, not a nut.

If anyone is taking a selenium supplement, look into Brazil nuts. Just one of them gives you 174% RDA.

I think this is the best site for finding nutritional value of almost anything. https://www.nutritionvalue.org/Brazil_nuts_nutritional_value.html

Researchers at the University of Toronto have found that a calorie labeled is not the same as a calorie digested and absorbed, when the food source is almonds almost any food.

Yep you heard that right in most food the calorie labeled is going to be more then what you take in.

The less processed it is the harder time your body will have breaking it down and at a certain point your body gets bored and quits trying.

That is why we cook our food. It makes it easier to chew and for our body to process. It is why, unlike animals, we are not eating all the time.

Three cheers for cooking.

Confusing. Do Almonds cause kidney stones?

But you aren’t supposed to eat more than 3-6 per day.
