Fearful maskers stayed home. He couldn't call for insurrection but he stated in many ways that we have to go back to normal lives, open up the economy.
I do believe those who say that the Deep State was threatening to collapse the stock market if he came out (or comes out) strong against the 'vaccines'.

This battle is conducted on multiple fronts. The president doesn't get to just 'do' or 'say' whatever he wants without incurring losses.

If we start down the path of overthrow of legal processes for the 'right reasons' (2020 elections), then we set a precedent that the Deep State would use to overthrow our government in the future by claiming to 'protect us'. Had Trump not been the brilliant communicator and tactician he is, the MSM/CIA/DEMS would have convicted him of the Russia Hoax and many other 'crimes' and thrown him out of office.
The left kept setting President Trump up for UN intervention. The UN is the 'nice face' of international coup. It pretends to rush to 'help' a country with 'peacekeepers' while in fact it fortifies the coup strategy.
The George Floyd riots were just one of those efforts, with the UN almost deciding to 'intervene' in the US to 'help' protect black Americans from the violent racisim purportedly 'supported' by President Trump.
Ultimately, the President serves at the will of the people and these multiple, endless attacks are meant to exhaust the public into accepting the ouster of President Trump.

He waited to call Marshall law and have the military host a revote. The military did nothing.
Look back at the series photos in Dan Scavino's Twitter around that time. President Trump is shown contemplating a picture of Abraham Lincoln. The question before him entailed weighing the risks and benefits to arrive at the decision which would result in the least amount of American casualties and the survival of the nation.
The Deep State wants revolution which it would weaponize. The Deep State had been laying the groundwork to weaponize traditional martial law.
Around the decision time, General Flynn said that we needed limited martial law. I believe he was conveying that which was actually happening. Resident Biden does not have full control of the military; if he did we would all have been vaccinated with support from UN troops which happen to be Chinese.
China bought and paid for Biden. They aren't getting their money's worth yet because our military stands in their way.
Trump did nothing to keep the swamp out of his own administration.
70% or more of the administration was corrupt upon his arrival. He had to remove them in a way that would not provoke the civil unrest they sought (remember the organizing to riot if he removed Rosenstein and Mueller?). He had to gently extract strategic members without collapsing the government. No one has ever tried what he actually suceeded in doing. He fought them all while extracting key elements and most importantly, awakening many.
He kept too many Obama holdovers. He didn’t fire nearly enough people.
He is aware that the coup entails the will of the people and that he cannot maintain that will if he does as he wishes, says what he wants, while the MSM/DEMS have indoctrination of so much of the public. Civil war is bloody and he had to work to bring the country together because alienating half of it would serve the deep state's plan to shatter the nation and sweep up the pieces.
Hillary never went to jail.
He didn't give the Dems the ability to say he was doing so as political retailiation after the FBI cleared her before he took office. He would have to fight 70% of teh government and 98% of the MSM and about 100% of social media to try to reach the public and prove his actions were just. The country would once again fracture.
That said, he did clip her wings in various ways and she is still in fear of 'hanging' for her actions with good reason. With 70% corruption when he took office, there was never a chance that he was going to use conventional, public means to drain the swamp.
He does have successes which are stratigic and most importantly, ongoing. It's not over yet. The reason they fear him and are actively trying to destroy him now is because it is not over yet. They know they are not safe.

Mine has not changed. I was disappointed to realize the battle and the stakes were higher than I had hoped. But he continues to fight - he's in the news and thrashing rhinos and dems. He still controls key elements of the military. He boarded Air Force One with the nuclear football to attend that 'departure ceremony' at Andrews on Jan 20 wherein they played "Hail To The Chief' for a reason.
He walked away from a race that he won, we won.
After analysis he chose not to risk America with Civil War II and instead enacted limited martial law, with the military in possession of the nuke football. The reason President Trump and others say that we can't let 2020 election stand is because he and other patriots not going to let it stand. While many in the DOJ were fired or 'resigned' under duress, there are still too many in our government who are corrupt. China's puppet pretends to be president. But President Trump and other patriots are working toward stopping the 2020 steal and setting us back on track. We really need to be, as you say, aggressive in our local participation.
General Flynn made that point as well when he encouraged us to become active locally. I believe local activities are harder for the deep state to infiltrate and portray as violent threats. I also believe Flynn focused on local activism to help us rebuild given the first thing citizens need to do so is realize we are not alone, we outnumber our oppressors, and we need to show them we know that.

While he continued making remarks after the Election Day, I think it’s OK that Trump did not “do much” to push the issue. What does one do, without truly leading to a real coup or martial law, which could easily be seen as unconstitutional? And despite the EverTrumpers’ vehement denials, that would not be a good thing either.
I do think Trump is overrated, though. Including people thinking either he did lots and it was all right, or that if he did nothing it was because he had a great plan to fool the commies.
Maybe America needed a glimpse into what Socialism / Communism would look like to really wake the hell up.

The problem as I see it Pres. Trump was not the long time politico that hung out in the DC Swamp so he didn’t know the reputation of the people he picked to fill offices like FBI’s Wray so he relied on the the old timers like McConnell to make recommendations. By the time he found out most of those folks were RINOs and were liars to boot, it was too late and the damage done.

We didn't wait too late. Trump did everything he could as president to stop the slide towards communism. But he's not a dictator who can order everybody around to get his way.
And if I recall (I am being facetious) he didn't have any help from anybody in his efforts. The entire Deep State, Swamp and media pushed back his efforts during his entire term.
So guess who I'm voting for again if he runs? Donald Trump because he's the only one in my lifetime who came anywhere close to taking on the corrupted DC politicians and bureaucrats. Reagan did some but not like Trump.
We didn't wait too long to clean up this mess. Only one guy has stepped up who could help us do it.
So instead criticizing what he didn't do, you should be counting your blessings he was able to do as much as he didn't given how hamstrung he was.
President Trump was/is a great president. He accomplished a lot. But his one weakness, IMO, was trusting many of his political appointees, believing they would support him and his agenda. He should have been more ruthless and fired those who turned against him, sooner.
Even better, he shouldn’t have appointed them in the first place, vetting them more thoroughly.
My sentiments are pretty much with you. I will support his re-election, or, his proper return to his office. He was a great president but the missteps are clear.
I can’t believe those poor people are still in prison after Jan 6. They did nothing wrong IMO. They were invited in. He should have stood up for them.

My concern with this logic is that history proves people never learn by their past mistakes. The lure of giveaways and easy money never gets old. That’s why I would have cut the imposter, Beijing Biden, off at the pass and never let him assume office. The military knew he was illegitimate from day one and rather than take action they talked themselves into waiting for a better day, which will only make it more difficult. Gimme a break... Trump had to follow the laws too and he was not allowed ‘under law’ to send in police forces. Democrat mayors in democrat states WANTED THEIR CITIES TO BURN BECAUSE COMMIES CALLING THE SHOTS WANTED IT THAT WAY.
The closest Trump was able to do legally was to send in feds to protect a federal courthouse. And the black mayor resented that and the toadies in the MSM supported the black mayor.
