"kg" is NOT a unit of weight; it is a unit of mass.
I have a mass of 100 kg, and (on Earth) a weight of 981 Newtons.
A pound is (in the Old English measurement system) a unit of mass - not weight. The corresponding unit of weight is the pound-force.
