Nice guy.

Obviously very bright.

Life came about to turn carbon into methane?

My fart must be entropy.

I have a headache again.

There is this huge thing we call space.

In it is stuff made up of atoms which are really just energy.

So there’s this big space with energy in it.

As far as we know, one little piece of space collected some energy through gravity and made something new.

Something only found in this one tiny piece of space.

Life.

This life thing, that our senses can observe, lasts for a while.

Our telomeres shorten or something like that and then the mind and heart no longer observably work.

Why?

Why not just keep changing carbon to methane for centuries?

One of the worst curses I’ve heard is,

“May you live forever.”

I don’t think we are afraid to die as much as we are afraid we are going to miss something in the future.

Entropy is not always pleasant or enriching.

Fascinating lecture. He’s a great speaker and that’s a challenging topic.

Physicists always have to have a blackboard with at least one triangle and some letters that only mean something to them.

Fish crawled out of the water because they could see further on land?

Dolphins have a form of sonar.

Fish have an organ that can sense other life in the water.

Why don’t we landlubbers have this as some vestigial thing?

I am made of the stuff of stars.

Yet, I can move. I can see. I can taste. I can hear. I can smell. Boy can I smell.

And I know that I am made of the stuff of stars.

And in this huge universe, only a little bit of it knows that it is made of the stuff of stars.

This guy freely admits that we really don’t know much about the universe.

We are given about 90 years to figure everything out.

We build on the knowledge of those pieces of carbon that went before us.

And we look at grass and stars with wonder.

One man gave us the answer if we are not physicists.

Love the Lord your God with everything you have and treat other people like you would want to be treated if you were them.

The physicists can keep on big banging everything.
