An apparent skydiver whose parachute became entangled in power lines about 30 feet off the ground in Lake Elsinore has been taken to a hospital after being rescued on Tuesday...

The incident was reported around 11:10 a.m. at Mission Trail and Vine Street...The area is near a local skydiving center, though it’s unclear if that was where the flight originated.

In addition to firefighters, Southern California Edison and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded to help get the individual down.

Crews cut power lines and used a safety basket to get him back on the ground a little more than an hour after the successful rescue started...

Officials say the patient had minor injuries to his lower extremities and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital after being checked out at the scene.

The chute was safely removed from the power lines.

Um...I don’t think I’d be lowering myself on any kind of a line from live power lines. I’d rather not be the shunt...

The wire right about his head is a phone cable. The smaller one above that is CableTV/Internet. The ones up top are power.

If you’re worried about shock, you lower yourself until you’re about three feet above the ground and cut the nylon line and drop the last few feet.

Easy Peezy and was covered in our class. Did it twice, once from power lines and once from a tree.
