An apparent skydiver whose parachute became entangled in power lines about 30 feet off the ground in Lake Elsinore has been taken to a hospital after being rescued on Tuesday...
The incident was reported around 11:10 a.m. at Mission Trail and Vine Street...The area is near a local skydiving center, though it’s unclear if that was where the flight originated.
In addition to firefighters, Southern California Edison and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded to help get the individual down.
Crews cut power lines and used a safety basket to get him back on the ground a little more than an hour after the successful rescue started...
Officials say the patient had minor injuries to his lower extremities and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital after being checked out at the scene.
The chute was safely removed from the power lines.

Goodness gracious. How hard could it be to figure THAT out? For the love of......
So they don’t have the little winch-thingy with 50 feet of line, and the tethered knife to cut yourself loose and lower yourself to the ground anymore?
I’m pretty sure the ground underneath where he was hanging was well fertilized by the time the rescue was completed.
Hang Glider pilot here.

I am an American Badass!
Watched a friend miss the landing and put a tree branch through his hand.
It’s dangerous business, but WHAT A RUSH!!
I stuck the landings...

Just STFU
Shocking!
Lawyers.....
Um...I don’t think I’d be lowering myself on any kind of a line from live power lines. I’d rather not be the shunt...
Blossom Valley, El Capitan.
No power. No brakes. All balls.
Glad he made it!
Guys were launching tandem hang glider in Elsinore and cutting loose mid flight for a free fall parachute drop.
I was there, saw it all.
E-Team!!
You'd think the parachute would give the author a clue.
Nice catch. Who’s to say a flight was involved at all? Maybe the guy that was just out walking with his parachute and and an updraft lifted him into the power lines.
This is a shocking story. The skydiver got a charge out of it.
Aren’t the lines insulated? Just asking.
The vast majority are not insulated. At least the primary voltages usually are not.
Insulation is added weight to the wires. And in cold climates, the larger the diameter of the wires, the more ice can accumulate.
#2 .The area is near a local skydiving center, though it’s unclear if that was where the flight originated
That is a “alleged” skydiving center.... “alleged”.
Like a guy with a smoking gun and a dead body at their feet.
Also the larger the diameter of the wire, the more wind resistance.

Also, the incident was “reported” to have happened. So we don’t know for sure whether or not it actually happened.
