WOODLAWN, Md. (AP) — Baltimore County police released body camera footage Friday that shows a fierce exchange of gunfire between officers and a man who killed three people and set his home on fire earlier this month.
Footage from body cameras show officers arriving at a townhome community in Woodlawn where smoke is billowing from a home engulfed in flames.
A shot is heard immediately after an officer gets out of his SUV and the video shows him taking cover. He fires one shot toward the burning house and a figure in black drops to the ground.
Other officers arrive and they move closer while firing and then approach the man on his back and handcuff him.
Police say the man, Everton Brown, died as he was taken to a hospitaL.
(INCREDIBLE VIDEO)
i used to live in woodlawn...
not that part of the town, but a lot of gunshots by both sides... a little too much from too far by the police for me... i am thinking of the targets beyond what he was shooting at... and taking a shot with an officer in front of him was reckless.
just saying.
He identified an elemental part of the problem, but burning his house down and shooting neighbors DRT is not part of the solution.
Speaking of a Baltimore, MD suffering at the hands of violent street thugs, I got the BluRay boxset of ‘The Wire’ for Christmas and just started re-watching the series again because frankly, there’s not much else on TV.
After getting through season 1, it struck me that there is NO WAY that show - arguably the best dramatic tv in the history of dramatic TV - could be made today. It’s simply too politically incorrect. And, while the show certainly portrays cops as imperfect people who aren’t always serving the public interest, MOST of the cops are earnest and well-meaning. That message is persona non grata today.
Blue America voting gets Blue America results.
The first officer who fired I think hit the perp with his first round, at, I’m guessing 150+ feet. Not an easy task.
Please label your video. My time was wasted thinking it was the bodycam.
House on fire, bodies in the street, getting shot at.
But, the perp was black so the cop wasn't supposed to shoot him.
Riots at 9pm.
It was a great shot.
Why did they blur his face in the video? Makes no sense.
Yeah. He was steady. That black guy, later, doing a mag dump behind other cops, and yelling, was kind of a nightmare.
Man, at 16:43. Olympic level shooting. Damn nice shot. That officer should go out for the Olympic Team.
Olympic level shooting at 16:43. Wow!
Good link.
Some strange stuff...
