“And were any of these “Mass Shootings” not black on black violence? Isn’t it time to address black-on-black violence?”
Violent crime goes on all around us all the time. I wondered why this was, as, if you look at the statistics, they point to a huge problem. Except, when you look closely at who the victims are, they are largely people who are involved in crime. So, as far as society is concerned, a criminal killing another criminal is a self-solving problem. On average, it’s much rarer that a criminal kills someone not involved in a criminal activity It’s so rare, that it usually makes the news in a big way.
The Chicago police developed a shooting victim’s profile that is astonishingly successful in predicting who will fall victim to a shooting, usually within 18 months of meeting the criteria. Chicago developed a program to identify and notify the potential victims that they’d made the cut. No word on how that’s working out, but my guess is it’s had zero success based on who gets notified of their pending victim status. So, who makes the list? If you were arrested for criminal activity with someone else, that’s a point in favor. If you are arrested in regards to particular types of crimes, that’s another point. This is because these potential victims are criminals, involved with other criminals, in activities that are likely to involve violence.
In other words, the vast majority of shooting victims are not normal members of society at large...they are themselves criminals. We therefore shrug and say, “so what?”
Yet, there were at least 11 dead with nearly 50 shot in Chicago alone - and they’re not making an issue out of that.
60 miles west of Columbus. Not a word about the shooting on Dayton morning shows. ??
Wall ‘em in. Air drop armaments.
The only odd thing about this CNN "story" is that it was 12, and not 17 shootings.
CNN is racist for reporting this.
Address it? We can't even get the toadies in the press to acknowledge it.
I think it is four shot, not necessarily killed.
Just a minor quibble.
Whitey made them do it.

SC's shootings are detailed in the CNN article.
Not Chicago?
Who was doing the shooting?
I am guessing no suburbanites.
