No, I’ve been listening to 1300am “morning drive” since the mid 80’s. Then switched to WROW when Vandenburg moved, and now back again. That’s all I listen too on the station simply due to personal schedule.
You have a good point, Dan was a little fast today. He’ll get the rhythm. I believe he’s a very good guy and he still has some inside baseball contacts. I still adore Rush and he will never be replaced. If Steyn is not coming back, Dan is a very good choice.
Oh! Ok. I used to work with Paul at WROW - boy was it a shock when he didn’t show up one morning!
If you’ve never heard Kevin McCashion and “Road Rage” between 3 and 6 I can’t recommend enough that you try to listen sometime. Kevin is the best radio guy I’ve ever heard, and that includes Rush on some levels.
He hands every local, crappy, leader their breakfast, lunch and dinner every day.

Thanks for posting this. I was able to catch almost every minute of Dan’s show, listened to Trump, etc. I knew Dan was getting a radio show but I had lost track of the details. Without your thread, I would have missed it.

After Rush passed, Steyn just seemed to disappear from the guest host rotation. Did anyone ever hear an explanation why?
That is a good area of Virginia. And I have several friends who have migrated to Tennessee from the DC area in the last couple of years, and even a couple who went there from Northern Indiana. Cheers.
No. He was on just a few times, then he started doing more shows on Fox news, it seemed, and wasn’t on again.
Maybe he was contracted for more pay than the others would take? Maybe if he knew he wasn’t going to be replacing El Rushbo he didn’t want any part of it then?
The EIB gave him a strong, national voice. I haven’t watched Fox in over a decade, and I won’t. I read his newsletter and visit his website but it’s not the same.
In any case, best of luck to Dan.
I remember reading in a FR thread that he declined to be a guest host/guide. There was no reason given by the poster.
My personal hope then was that he would become the permanent “replacement” for Rush and that the EIB would not dissolve like it has done.
Wasn't comparing the two, just hoped for a little more robust opening. Dan is very popular with the younger crowd and I sincerely hope he is a major success but after listening to Rush for 30 years everyone else falls a little short.

Really hard to do a 3 hour show, 5 days a week. My guess is you need 10 hours of prep time for 3 hours. Grueling schedule.
That's what I was hoping, also. And it was just strange to me that Steyn disappeared from the guest host lineup with nothing ever being said about it that I heard.
Nobody is going to replace Rush dude. You would be dreaming. I like Dan.
