Covid’s origins and the systemic corruption of science

A must-read article demonstrates how genuine scientific inquiry was shot down as a "conspiracy theory" and points fingers at the guilty parties.

For more than a year, honest and impartial scientific exploration of the origins of the Covid-19 virus has been blocked, with consideration of the possibility that it was engineered in the Wuhan Institute of Virology virtually suppressed, mocked as a “conspiracy theory.”

Here are some excerpts from the article that should be read in its entirety. Crawford points his finger at the guilty parties.

Wade points out that the “consensus” that Covid must have an entirely natural origin was established by two early pronouncements, one in The Lancet in February 2020 and the other in Nature Medicine in March 2020. These were op-eds, not scientific papers. Both spoke with certainty about matters which it was impossible to be certain about. Wade writes: “It later turned out that the Lancet letter had been organized and drafted by Peter Daszak, president of the EcoHealth Alliance of New York. Dr Daszak’s organisation funded coronavirus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. If the SARS2 virus had indeed escaped from research he funded, Dr. Daszak would be potentially culpable. This acute conflict of interest was not declared to the Lancet’s readers. To the contrary, the letter concluded, “We declare no competing interests.”

In other words, the guy who was orchestrating research on bat coronaviruses at the lab in Wuhan corralled other scientists, with similar professional interests, into making a declaration to the effect that anyone who mentions the (obvious) possibility that the pandemic (which started in Wuhan) might have a connection to this research could only be doing so with bad intentions. This seems a bit thuggish.

The primary questions left are

1. whether it was created through natural mutation and selection or was it created through gene editing?

2. Was it realeased accidentally or intentionally?

3. Once it was out of the lab, did the communist Chinese government intentionally spread it worldwide so everyone would be affected rather than sealing their own borders and taking the economic damage themselves solely?

My belief is 1. I really don't know, 2. Accidental because it would have happened elsewhere if intentional and they would have codeveloped a vaccine for themselves and 3. they intentionally spread it internationally once they knew it was out. But those are my current opinions and could change with more evudence.

The question becomes: what if you’re right, what do we do differently?

Trump was right to blame China. Initial efforts to label the Wuhan release as a conspiracy theory is all you need to know. Covid was an premeditated bio attack on Trump’s reelection, an act of war.

systemic - relating to a system, especially as opposed to a particular part.

The last time I had an exposure to poison oak while fighting a fire, leaves and branches got into my clothing next to my skin and rubbed on it for several hours. The allergic reaction that I had was so bad that it affected my entire body not just the areas of skin that were directly exposed. The doctors called it a systemic reaction.

There is no reason that the words systemic or corruption should not be used together. We currently have corruption of a political nature that is so bad that it is affececting areas of our lives that should have no direct connection to politics. It is systemic corruption. Our language is constantly evolving which could also be referred to as being corrupted. But this is true of all "living" language.

None of us mere mortals do, and those of our "betters" who do know, are working as if their very lives depend on us never really knowing.

The release was premature, the release was not a deliberate act by the lab or the Chinese government, for the reasons you listed. One can be certain they they were working on a vaccine.

I cannot rule out that the release was deliberate, one scenario is a disgruntled employee 'getting back at' her boss who used and dumped her, Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, but I agree it was probably an accidental release.

3. they intentionally spread it internationally once they knew it was out.

Travel from Wuhan to anywhere else within China was forbidden, at the same time travel from Wuhan to anywhere else on earth was permitted and encouraged. That sure sounds intentional, deliberate, and malicious.

But those are my current opinions and could change with more evidence.

Evidence means a shootin' war with a country that has a lot of surplus military age males (thanks to the one child policy and a strong cultural bias against girls), a huge industrial base, a very robust network of spies and saboteurs, and nuclear weapons.

We're not likely to get evidence from the wholly Chinese owned biden administration...

Point 1 has troubled a lot of people from the very beginning, and it’s probably going to be hard to get the goods on the CCP on this, but they sure were acting like they had something to hide from the start, and still are. The part that was strange was the speed with which the powers that be in the West were so quick to dub any lab escape scenario (either manipulated or natural) as a conspiracy theory, which was also racist. At first, I just figured it was part of the political narrative, which the media and establishment types were also keen to advance.

Turns out there’s more to it than that. True, there was a political angle, but we’ve now learned that Fauci did in fact fund something that could reasonably be called “gain of function” research at the Wuhan lab, and did so using a cutout: Peter Daszak. Seems to show a guilty mind, at least on the surface.

Oh, and that same Peter Daszak was the guy that the CCP wanted, and got, as the “investigator” for the WHO looking in to the lab release hypothesis. Kind of like having a prime suspect in the case work as the detective.

That’s not the sort of thing that will show one way or the other, but it sure looks fishy.

And then something that I hadn’t considered was pointed out by Bret Weinstein. Putting aside the culpability of the CCP, and directing his fire at Fauci, he observed that IF this bug is the result of lab manipulation, then that shows the critics of GOF were right, and that technology is far too dangerous to mess with. On the other hand, if this turns out, however improbably to be a “spillover” event, the advocates of GOF could say “see, we were right. We need this research to prevent future pandemics, possibly with much more dangerous virii.”

The stakes are incredibly high from just about every perspective, and everyone involved has plenty of motivation to lie.
