You can send off those ticks that were attached to find out if they carried Lyme and then get dosed with doxycycline if necessary! Do I sound paranoid? Lol
They weren’t on long enough.
They were barely attached and were not engorged at all.
I happened to mention the ticks to a pharmacist and he asked if they were engorged and I said no, and he said I was fine then.
Apparently, from what I’ve read, they need to be feeding for about 24 hours to even stand a chance at passing on Lyme, if they have it.
That said, we’ve been treating around the house and doing daily tick checks after being outside.
Seems like this is a bad year for a lot of stuff besides ticks, too.
We have a crown vetch and horsetail infestation. The stuff is growing like crazy. The little black flies we know as punkies are bad this year, too.
